        • Burnt fuse(s),
        • No electricity or gas to the unit,
        • Failed relay or control board,

        • Failed draft motor, safety switch, pilot, or ignitor.

Although we promote some visual inspection of the equipment by the homeowner, you should not open the equipment.
Heating equipment is powered by high voltage (120-240 V) and natural gas. Inexperienced handling of the equipment can result in damage to the equipment, electrocution, and/or fire.

      • Some things to check:
        • Check that the thermostat is operating normally and does not need new batteries,
        • Check that the air filter(s) is clean,
        • Check that the air filter grill is not obstructed,
        • Make sure that nothing being stored in the attic is crushing any air ducts,
        • Make sure the light switch located in the attic that controls power to the furnace is on,
        • For gas furnaces, make sure that the gas supply is not shut off (one way to do this is to check your other gas appliances and make sure they are operating normally).

The heating equipment is inside, either in the attic or a closet.
When you call for service, be aware that the technician will need to enter the house in order to examine the heating equipment.
